The R&D priorities are the result of the work of dozens of national experts from various sectors and fields based on outlook studies and analysis focused on the identification of the main issues and also the main valid strategic documents. Analyses of these materials and the preparation itself were made from May 2011 to January 2012. Part of the R&D Priorities are also the system measures, assessments of relations between individual fields and forms of their utilization during the implementation of R&D in the Czech Repubblic.
An international course "Technology Foresight for Practitioners" was organized for the fifth time in Prague, in the conference room of Technology Centre AS CR. The course did run from 5 to 11 November 2007 (Monday – Thursday). The course, which was held in cooperation with UNIDO, was focused on scenarios this year. Within the 4-day course, foresight was introduced as a tool for policy-making with a special emphasis on the role of scenarios, followed by a lecture on scenarios as a method.
The work on preparation of thematic priorities proposal for the National Research Program III, which is coordinated by Technology Centre AS CR in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Research and Development Council, moved forward to the next stage. In the previous stage the Technology Centre elaborated a set of analyses of research and development in the Czech Republic, which were necessary for creation of the detailed terrain map of R&D landscape and for prediction of the R&D segments with the high probability of thematic priorities in the frame of NRP III.
